When my cancer was active (I had a rarer form of non Hodgkins lymphoma (NHL) termed mantle cell lymphoma),I used hypnosis to manage my health and my body's response to chemotherapy. While the pain was marginal, the discomfort, depression and anxiety were at times very high. Hypnosis gave me an additional leg up to preparing my body for chemo and radiation therapy and also helped me to bring my mind and self to center. There is no way I can say that hypnosis cured my cancer - but I am convinced it helped me significantly in coping with it the situation and preparing my body for recovery. What I learned during this time of healing for me is that our bodies are very strong, and when we come to that realization, we can leverage the power of our subconscious mind to have your internal systems start to work more for your benefit. In no way I am saying that one should give up their medical team - they are amazing folks and I am so thankful for their dedication. In fact, the Johns Hopkins team that saved me I will be grateful to for the rest of my life. But if you are coping through cancer or any other life challenging health crisis, I encourage you to tap into your subconscious mind and start encouraging your body to heal from within.
